Sandow Strength

Since the Mr. Olympia competition debuted in 1965, 19 athletes have claimed bodybuilding’s most prestigious title. Among these competitors, you’ve got some of the biggest names in the sport, like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane, Ronnie Coleman, and Phil Heath.

And while fans will always debate which winner had the best physique, we’re looking to answer another question today: Which one of these competitors was the strongest?

It’s a tall order, but we combed the numbers and pored over the video evidence to determine which Mr. O could deadlift, squat, and bench press the most obscene weights.

CONTEST RESULTS

The Mutant Takes Manhattan

After a controversial second-place finish at last week’s Pittsburgh Pro, Nick Walker dusted himself off over the weekend in Teaneck, NJ, and claimed his third New York Pro title.

The competition was nearly a foregone conclusion from the get-go, with Walker dropping jaws during pre-judging and keeping them there through the finals. “The Mutant,” as he’s affectionately known, topped the venerable William Bonac, who took runner-up, and Michal Krizanek, who came in third. Regan Grimes also impressed with a fourth-place effort.

Walker’s victory qualifies him for the 2025 Mr. Olympia, set for Oct. 9-12 at Resorts World in Las Vegas, NV. Will this win give Walker the momentum he needs to finally hoist the Sandow in Sin City?

EXERCISES

Short Heads, Big Gains

Let’s face it: Nearly every gym-goer wants a pair of biceps that are perpetually on the verge of busting through their T-shirts. But to get there, you need to be smart about your exercise choices and have a basic understanding of anatomy. (Don’t worry, we won’t get too science-y here.)

The biceps are made of two heads — the long and short. The short head is the inner biceps muscle and is the most visible when flexing. This is what you’ll want to focus on for supreme growth.

While isolating only the short head of your biceps isn’t possible — the long head will always be somewhat activated — some exercises activate this area more than others. These are five of the best moves to try.

THE RESULTS ARE IN

Nick Walker vs. Derek Lunsford

In the May 13 edition of The Ripped Report, we asked if you thought Derek Lunsford or Nick Walker should have won the Pittsburgh Pro. “The Mutant” won the poll with 62.5% of the vote, further solidifying an epic Olympia later this year.

That brings us to this week’s poll:

Will Nick Walker win the 2025 Mr. Olympia?
