Let Bumstead Pump You Up

Hans and Franz pumped us up, but honestly, we'd prefer advice from more seasoned professionals.

Three-time reigning Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead headed to the Revive gym in Stuart, FL, for a grueling shoulder workout on Sept 16, 2022. He published a recording of that workout on his Youtube channel for fans to follow along with.

Bumstead has been slowly easing into his 2022 Olympia prep, dialing in physique improvements. He intends to bring a package that can score his fourth consecutive Olympia title when the show comes to Las Vegas from Dec. 16-18.

You can flex your biceps, spread your lats, or stomp your quads all you want, but as a bodybuilder, your physique isn’t presented in isolation. It’s part of a comprehensive package. You can’t just omit certain muscles from your overall aesthetic, whether you compete on stage or not.

Despite that, the body part split reigns supreme as the de-facto method of bulking up. But what happens when you don’t have five full days to grind away in the weight room, or you’re caught in a bind and have to get a solid workout over your lunch break?

We've got just the routine for you (linked below, of course).

What happens if you have to bulk like your job depends on it?

Derek Lunsford is the reigning 212 Olympia champion but won’t be defending that title at the 2022 Mr. Olympia after recently getting a special invitation to the Men’s Open division. The International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFFB) Pro League member and his coach Hany Rambod recently had a candid conversation about what went into the division transition. Plus, they quickly diagrammed how the athlete will approach his upcoming training for the contest.

On Sept. 19, 2022, a video of their discussion was posted to Rambod’s YouTube channel.
