đź’Ş We Have a NEW Mr. Olympia!
With the 2022 Olympia officially in the books, we're here with a special edition of The Ripped Report to break down all the thrilling moments from a wild weekend. Here's a quick rundown of the major news just in case you missed anything:
Hadi Choopan dethroned Mamdouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay to win his first Mr. Olympia title!
Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker came in second and third, respectively, while Ramy dropped to fifth.
Chris Bumstead took home his fourth consecutive Classic Physique Olympia title. That extends his all-time lead in the division.
Not to be outdone, Maureen Blanquisco beat out four past division champions to win her first Bikini Olympia.
*Phew* Got all that? There's a lot more that went down in Vegas this weekend, so let's get right to it.

Hadi Choopan Upsets the Champ
Since 2020, Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay could call himself the reigning Mr. Olympia — and up until this weekend, most people believed it would stay that way for another year. Unfortunately for Ramy, Hadi Choopan had the right game plan in place to put an early end to his run.
Choopan stepped on stage in Las Vegas looking equal parts massive and conditioned, and it was enough for the judges to award him with the upset win. Shockingly, Ramy dropped all the way down to fifth, his lowest Olympia placing since 2018. Here's the official top five:
Hadi Choopan
Derek Lunsford
Nick Walker

Chris Bumstead's Dynasty Lives On
Chris Bumstead extended his dynasty on Saturday night by scoring his fourth consecutive Classic Physique Olympia title, further cementing his reputation as the face of the division. At an Olympia where so many contests flipped the script on the fans, this is one showdown that went as expected.
That said, Bumstead did have some stiff competition from the field. Ramon Rocha Queiroz was nipping at his heels throughout the weekend, while Urs Kalecinski and Breon Ansley weren't far behind. Rocha Queiroz had momentum heading into this show after finishing second to Terrence Ruffin earlier in the year at the 2022 Arnold Classic. Still, momentum wasn’t enough to pull off an upset. Here’s how the top five played out:
Chris Bumstead
Ramon Rocha Queiroz
Urs Kalecinski
Breon Ansley

You already know about Choopan, Bumstead, and Blanquisco, but those weren't the only highlights of the weekend. What about Andrea Shaw winning her third consecutive Ms. Olympia title? She's the only athlete to win the crown since the competition's return in 2020, and it's safe to say she's the most dominant athlete in the division. (Or any division, really.)
On the flip side, the 2022 Olympia also saw a few dynasties come to a screeching halt, including three-time Men's Physique champ Brandon Hendrickson losing to Erin Banks. And then there was Natalia Abraham Coelho topping two-time Women's Physique Olympia winner Sarah Villegas.

The Giant Killer Returns!
Shaun Clarida reclaimed his 212 Olympia crown after losing out in 2021 to Derek Lunsford. Here's how that contest went down.
Harold Kelley continued his winning ways by capturing his fifth consecutive Wheelchair Olympia title. He's the only athlete to win the contest in its five-year history.
It's official: Cydney Gillon came away with her sixth straight Figure Olympia win this weekend. That puts her in some elite company, no matter what division you're talking about.
