đź’Ş He's the Back-Flipping Bodybuilder
Break out the pumpkin spice protein latte and pull up a seat — it's time for this week's SECOND Ripped Report. That's right, folks, we're pulling two-a-weeks.
Jon Call — better known online as "Jujimufu" — is a self-described "anabolic acrobat" who has gone viral many, many times. Sometimes Call is doing overhead squats into the splits, and sometimes he's doing heavy deadlifts into explosive flips. And lately, he's been focusing pretty heavily on bodybuilding, including a recent performance at the NPC North American Championships.
Elite glutes are a must-have for Wellness competitors. And Yarishna Ayala met up with Dana Linn Bailey for a recent glute session focused on time under tension.
Looking to boost your upper-body routine? Well, you're subscribed to The Ripped Report, so we assume that's a yes. See how Classic Physique champ Terrence Ruffin attacks his off-season training.
COMPETITION RECAP
Jujimufu Breaks Down Recent Contest
He's one of the most popular fitness figures on Instagram. Surely the judges love him too?
Jon “Jujimufu” Call opened up about his recent bodybuilding performance at the National Physique Committee (NPC) North American Championships. The show occurred on Aug. 31 through Sept. 3, 2022, in Pittsburgh, PA, and Jujimufu managed an 11th-place finish in the Men’s Open.
The video opened with an excerpt from the YouTube channel Nick's Strength and Power. Nick discussed Call’s chest being off compared to his previous appearances and believed Jujimufu may have injured it leading up to the show. Check out the video below, wherein Jujimufu addressed the take.
TRAINING
Yarishna Ayala Builds Glutes With Dana Linn Bailey
Wellness competitors build some seriously elite glutes. And it's no walk in the hip-thrusting park.
Former Women’s Physique Olympia champion Dana Linn Bailey recently met with Olympia Wellness athlete Yarishna Ayala for a heavy glute workout. Bailey has some of the best shoulders in the sport, while Ayala has some of the best glutes. Ayala believes more people should break their leg training into multiple sessions for optimum development.
Bailey trained legs earlier in the day but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hit glutes with Ayala. Check out their workout in the video below published on Bailey’s YouTube Channel on Aug. 29, 2022.
WORKOUT TIPS
Terrence Ruffin's Off-Season Upper-Body Plan
Reigning two-time Arnold Classic Classic Physique champion Terrence Ruffin recently broke down his off-season training and nutrition plan. The 203-pound Ruffin says that he eats around 5,000 calories per day to fuel his workouts and focuses on his weakest muscles first while at the gym, allowing him to work on them while he has the most energy.
For those of you following along at home, here's how Ruffin works out his calves, abs, back, and chest in a single session:
Calf Raises on Leg Press Machine
Lying Weighted Crunches
Superset: Seated Row and Chest Flyes
Seated Y Raises
Single-Arm Lat Pulldowns
Seated Stiff-Arm Pulldowns
