When you start lifting, your body quickly adapts to resistance training, resulting in noticeable gains in strength and muscle growth. To maintain and build on this progress, consistent and progressive lifting is essential. However, advanced lifters often face plateaus that are less common for beginners. That’s why we’ve compiled seven strategies to help experienced lifters break through stagnation and continue making progress.

By incorporating advanced training techniques, such as slowing your lift tempo, using accommodating resistance, and adjusting your training frequency, you can achieve consistent gains year after year. Discover these seven principles and reignite the progress you enjoyed when you first started lifting.

IFBB Pro League Men's Open bodybuilder Michal “Krizo” Krizanek recently announced that he plans to compete at the 2025 Prague Pro, scheduled for October 26 in Prague, Czech Republic. He made this announcement on his YouTube channel after placing third at the 2025 New York Pro on May 17.

Krizo has chosen to prioritize his health, focusing on recovery and rebuilding, which led to his decision to withdraw from the 2025 Mr. Olympia. “We’ll focus on recovery to cleanse the body, remove all toxins, and start bulking, followed by another prep,” Krizo confirmed.
