💪 How the 1st Mr. Olympia Changed Bodybuilding Forever
America's Founding Fathers are on our coins and cash, but bodybuilding's historic greats would probably make for better silhouettes. Today, we've got the details on how Larry Scott — the FIRST Mr. Olympia — changed the game forever.
BUT BEFORE WE GET INTO THAT, a word from our sponsor. Today’s edition is brought to you by Colter Dillon, makers of individually cut-and-sewn tee shirts to give you that perfect fit.
Another bodybuilding great, Australian legend Lee Priest, just got inducted into the Muscle Beach Hall of Fame.
And we've got full results for the 2022 Toronto Pro SuperShow, the latest major competition in one of the most packed bodybuilding seasons in history.
HISTORY
How Larry Scott Changed Bodybuilding
There are legends, and then there are legends behind the legends. Larry Scott is the former in a big way.
Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman boast eight Mr. Olympia titles apiece. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Phil Heath won seven during their long and successful careers in bodybuilding. The history of the Mr. Olympia contest is also a roster of bodybuilding legends — but only one man holds the distinction of winning the first Mr. Olympia. That man is Larry Scott.
Scott won the inaugural Mr. Olympia contest in 1965 and returned in 1966 to do it again before retiring from the sport forever a champion. He is the man who helped legitimize the early years of the Olympia, and was also at the forefront of training and nutritional innovations that are still in use today.

Lee Priest Gets Enshrined
Let's be frank for a second: Some honors just sound cooler than others. And there's perhaps nothing that sounds cooler than "Muscle Beach Hall of Fame."
Australian professional bodybuilder Lee Priest is now a member of the Muscle Beach Hall of Fame. (Gosh, that sounds cool to say.) The six-time Mr. Olympia competitor was honored in a ceremony at the site of the legendary outdoor weight room in Venice, CA on May 30, 2022.
Inducting him at the ceremony was longtime Iron Man Magazine owner and publisher, John Balik, who is also a member of the Walk of Fame. The induction ceremony can be seen at the link below, courtesy of MrYorkieLover Fitness Entertainment‘s YouTube channel.
